Design & Development

Chenab Engineering operates a fully equipped materials lab with state-of-the-art analysis equipment for cast metals and cast metal matrix composites. Our team employs rigorous testing protocols to minimize casting defects and maximize structural performance - from Gray Iron to high-alloy defence-grade steels.

Our Design & Development Process

Engineering innovation from concept to casting.

Drawing and 3D Modelling

Every project begins with a detailed study of customer-supplied drawings or reference samples. Our engineering team converts 2D technical drawings into full 3D CAD models, enabling thorough analysis before any physical production begins. We carry this 3D data forward through pattern production and all the way through to final mold design.

Pattern and Mold Design

Our design team produces optimised patterns and core boxes using modern engineering techniques, ensuring dimensional accuracy and repeatability across every production run. Pattern design is tightly integrated with simulation data to guarantee casting yield and consistent quality.

Reverse Engineering

For components where original drawings are unavailable or obsolete, we offer complete reverse engineering services. Using precision measurement and metrology, our team accurately reproduces legacy parts for defense platforms including Tank Al-Khalid hull components, T-Series track assemblies, and undercarriage parts across a wide range of armoured vehicles.

Solid Simulation and Casting Analysis

We have invested in advanced solidification simulation software that enables high-speed computational analysis of casting geometry. It predicts solidification behavior and detects shrinkage, porosity, and thermal risks before molding begins. By resolving issues early, we prevent defects and ensure reliable, high-quality defense cast components for mission readiness.
